Welcome to Granny Lou Lou
"Both my Mum and my Nannan were beautiful knitters. In my Summer holidays, I would go to stay with Nannan, and the first stop would always be the wool shop. We would pick a pattern and the wool and throughout the week, I would knit a jumper.
From a young age I always looked up to the women in my life, especially Nannan. Ever since I can remember, visits to see her were magical, full of crafting and creating. Watching her knit for hours, in awe that something so beautiful could be made with her own hands from just needles and wool. My Mum's knitting was always absolutely perfect and the jumpers she produced for us were beautiful.
Inspired by their talents, I began a fashion design course at Berkshire College of Art where I chose to study knitting. I learnt the most invaluable tools that I am forever grateful for. I had always dreamt that one day I would be creating my own pieces. It wasn't until my daughter, Georgie, became pregnant with my first grandchild and with hours in lockdown wondering what to do, I picked up my needles and started knitting for baby Otto. Granny Lou Lou's journey began.
